A MUST for all serious climbers:

Snowbird resort in Utah is planning a five-day clinic in August for rookie

mountaineers with cash to burn. For a mere $8,400, Snowbird Expeditions will

teach rudimentary mountain skills in a luxurious setting (gourmet meals,

recovery in Snowbird's Cliff Lodge spas, helicopter approach to basecamp and

climbs, etc.) and will feature 1-to-1 guide-student ratios with courses led by

some of the most experienced Himalayan mountaineers, including David Breashears,

Apa Sherpa, Willie and Damian Benegas, and Amy Bullard. The first camp is Aug.

What is challenging about a "6 day, mentally and physically challenging adventure..."

That includes:

""Spa Level" rooms...spa treatments, yoga, nutritious gourmet meals and full time access to the private Summit Room for movies and snacks..."

I say get them into a realistic harsh environment 100 miles from anything, work their fucking asses repeatedly into the ground and then after 30 days, give them chicken-scratched directions written on a stained cocktail napkin to the nearest airport. Make sure they sign a waiver of course! the_finger.gif

When not in the field, participants will be staying in Snowbird's award-winning Cliff Lodge "Spa Level" rooms. Each day in resort will include spa treatments, yoga, nutritious gourmet meals and full time access to the private Summit Room for movies and snacks. Daily intimate personal experience presentation topics run the gamut from what went right and terribly wrong on Everest in May 1996, to mental and physical preparation for extreme challenges. While in the field yurt and tent accommodations, hot showers, and nutritious feasts will ensure you the mental and physical stamina to maximize each day's offerings.
