mec Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 It's been 10 years since I have climbed at Horsethief. How is that place holding up? I spent most of my first few months of climbing out there. Ahhh, the memories. Sorry 'bout your lost shoe. I've got a pair of size 10.5 Newtons if you want to deal. Quote
John Frieh Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 I've only been climbing there since 2003 but seems to be doing fine to me in my newbie opinion Short drive for some fun climbing in a beautiful location (plus you can stop at the big horse brewery on the way back ). Hope someone finds my shoe! Quote
mec Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Way back? my way back when I was climbing there was just head across the river, and drive south of town for a couple of miles. The Dalles was my old stompin grounds. Quote
John Frieh Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 Lost (dropped) 1 green/white 5.10 Newton size 11 rock shoe. Quite possibly the smelliest rock shoe you will ever encounter (this might be helpful in locating it). Dropped off the top of pitch 4 on Young Warriors. Fall line indicates either somewhere in the brush near the start of the SE corner or possible on one of the ledges on the SE corner route. Will pay finder's fee... s, cash, first born... you name it. billcoe Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 You lost one of them at Hosethief and one of them at Beacon? You do get around. I know somebody with a golden lab - the dawg could smell it from the parking lot or even from Skamania Lodge further on I'm sure. I'll keep my nose to the ground looking for it.........them...........it. Quote
John Frieh Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 I recycled the thread from the last time I lost the same shoe But to recap... I lost a shoe at Beacon (only Beacon) on 9/19 that is somewhere below SE corner. Thanks to everyone for keeping an eye out! Quote
John Frieh Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 nice job wally!! Least I didn't get off route and went climbing which is more than some people I know can say Quote
billcoe Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Well, my 5 year old used to have the same problem, he was able to fix it when I taught him how to tie his shoes. John, next time we get together, I can show you too. __________________________________________________________________ (Speaking slowly with my hands cupped to my mouth) There are laces on the top, and i-f y-o-u t-i-e t-h-e-m i-n a b-o-w t-i-e, t-h-e s-h-o-e-s w-i-l-l s-t-a-y o-n t-h-e f-e-e-t. I'd like to go to Beacon next Sun and will look around, I don't think I'll be climbing so I'll keep my eyes peeled. Quote
