ChrisT Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Well if USA Today says the Globe is warming then it must be true. Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Does this mean my ropes might get wet when belaying Soul Mate in Seal Cove? Also note that a two foot sea level rise will eat away at the already fragile seaside bluffs of which many houses sit upon. Better relocate. Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Here's a wild-hair investment idea. Buy up land that will be waterfront property after a two-foot rise in sealevel. It's a no-lose situation. If it never becomes waterfront, the land will still appreciate, if it does happen you'll get a very good return. Or, for a more immediate return, declare the land as "Global Warming Safe", put some stupid endorsement on the saying, and jack up the prices for rich liberals. Quote
Dru Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 i got news for you bill, the local tidal range is 15 feet. 2 feet of difference won't change the coastlines enough to make new waterfront. Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Maybe, but the idea could potentially sell a lot of property. Fear sells a lot fo things. Plus, either way, it is a low-risk investment. Quote
catbirdseat Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 I wont believe it till I see it on Fox News You won't see that until hell freezes over, which won't be soon, given current trends. Damn, does hell get even hotter under Global Warming, or is hell insulated by sufficient thickness of the earth's crust? This is definitely a question for Dru. Quote
Szyjakowski Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 I wont believe it till I see it on Fox News only when the president and the boys who fill his mouth with words approve it, will you see it there. Quote
