So I'm guessing you made it through the "Vertically Inclined Rappel Training"? That must've been intense! Do they offer a class on Hiking With Obstacles ?

At least they have a bonafide reason to rappel, that is, to enter a cave. Up at Erie yesterday, I saw a bunch show up just to rap the cliff. That's what happens when you make the anchors too accessible.

 

I wonder if anyone has ever actually had to wait to get on a climb while someone rappelled it for the hell of it? It hasn't happened to me, but if this "sport" keep growing, I imagine there will eventually be conflicts.

I will be leading a group of 10 next weekend to rap outerspace. We will start above the hand crack, and follow the regular route as much as possible, meeting at each belay. Hopefully this does not inconvenience anybody. I hear the OS rap is much better than other raps such as Orbit. Last weekend we rapped Diedre by ascending the walk off, it was a real classic.
