gapertimmy Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 so i'm considering a more 'traditional' excursion for the anniversary this year. i'm wondering if anyone out in spray land has been on a cruise before and could provide some beta. good and bad comments would be appreciated... just looking for an extended weekend trip a little different from the norm (the norm being a road trip to a quaint B&B with hiking and such). gracias Quote
pope Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Make sure you're traveling on a smoke-free ship. There's no escaping it on board. Best part of our cruise was the day we spent in New Orleans before the cruise. Basically I thought it was kind of lame and would have enjoyed spending more time in any one of the destinations instead of climbing back on the ship every night. Make sure you get on a boat that features shooting clay pigeons off the stern. Quote
mtn_mouse Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Save your $$$$ and take the alaska ferry, Malaspina, up to Skagway and back. Quote
cj001f Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Not a cruise as such, but a ferry ride. The Navimag up the coast of Chile. Standard experience from what I understand. You eat, you alot, unless you have a private room and a honey, then you Quote

cj001f Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 What Carls trying to say is he ate and drank a lot. I had a shared bunkroom with 16 other people. That's not quite my scene. Quote
rbw1966 Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 The wife and I had a private room from Split to Ancona. Quote
