Norsky Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 There has got to be a better camping situation at Skaha than that free one way up the mountain. That one has the worst commute and outhouse ever. What are some other good spots you know of? Quote

cman Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 the place with the waterslides seems to be ok and cheap. we stayed at a pay place just south of town along the water, it was nice. seems like the pay places are the way to go unless you like that commute. Quote
PaulB Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Last May (prior to the long weekend) we camped at a place just down the road from the waterslides (no idea what it was called). The weird thing was that they had all their facilities open (showers, washrooms, etc.) but there wasn't anyone around to collect any cash. Two nights free waterfront camping! Quote
Norsky Posted April 25, 2005 Author Posted April 25, 2005 It's been a couple years since I was up there. Are the waterslides just south of town? Quote
flashclimber Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Just pay to stay in one of the 2 camp sites in town...it helps their economy and you'll smell better when you go out to eat. Lets help keep climbers in the good graces of the townfolk. Quote

Winter Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 The casino scene in Penticton is WAY better then Vegas. Why stay in a campground?! High Rollers get free room. Quote
PaulB Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 the place with the waterslides seems to be ok and cheap. Stayed there last weekend, and according to all the banners and signs hanging about, it's soon to be replaced by the Skaha Beach Club & Spa. Someone's walking away as a multi-millionaire off of that real estate deal. Â No indication that the spa will have a "climber's special" in the off season. Quote
Tod Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Wright's Beach Camp on Lake Skaha is great. They got beach and grass camping and the people there are pretty cool. It's the first campground on the right (on Lake Skaha) as you come from the south (west of the airport). Quote
