There is something going on in British Columbia that the government has frozen media reporting of.

I heard some DJ's hinting around it today.

Any ideas what happened? wazzup.gif Dru?

Not in BC. There's a federal trial with a publication ban in place regarding certain evidence, that some conservative US bloggers decided to violate... you can Google it and get all the banned testimony if you want to yellowsleep.gif

That might be the case if it was newsworthy for Americans, but when the only reason they decided to blog the info was because it was banned, "violate" seems the most appropriate verb.

And who is to say that the bloggers are all Yanks? Hmmm? blush.gif

He said conservative U.S. dudes, so that is what I assume.

I would agree with dru's point hwoever...if they just posted it because it was banned then that is pretty pointless.

Nope. It is a public inquiry into the possible misuse of public funds. The ban is in place for the testimony of an advertising exec who has also been criminally charged and whose trial starts in a week or so. The thought was that if his testimony was published, then the juror pool would be tainted. The ban is a good idea (IMO), and since the evidence will eventually be made public as part of the inqury's report, it isn't surpressing anything, but in an internet age, it is a ban in theory only.

You can read all about it at Captain's Quarters yellowsleep.gif

Oh, I thought maybe those rowdy Squamish teens had just murdered another lawyer, assaulted more campers in the city park, or started their car clouting season early.
