JayB Posted March 4, 2005 Author Share Posted March 4, 2005 There's an interesting piece in the most recent ECONOMIST about how Arabic culture and political expectations are evolving as the state-run, censored media are challenged by the availability of satellite TV, al-Jazeerah and al-Arabiyah. Also about US support for al-Arabiyah and hostility to al-Jazeerah. Yeah - interesting article. bunglehead Posted March 4, 2005 Share Posted March 4, 2005 I tried reading "The Utne Reader" once a few years ago. I read 3 issues before I realized what a rag it is.
