OlegV Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 I am under deep impression, one’s ranking on cc.com climbing board (like “stranger” or “newbie”) is based entirely on how active he is in polishing his pants sitting in front of a computer - not actually climbing. Quote
olyclimber Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 or...if you give the site admins money, they let you change it yourself. If you like the site, maybe you should consider it. Otherwise, polish away if the title means something to you. Quote
Thinker Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/faq.php?Cat=0#titlestring The FAQ response needs some updating, but it's essentially the process. Quote
Bogen Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Feeling sensitive about it? I always laugh when I see some of our more prodigious climbers with "newbie" or "wanker" under their names. Its about spraying, not climbing. Speaking of which, when you coming back to climb? Wedge is still where we left it, (I think!) Quote
ryland_moore Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 If you have to ask, then you are a NEWBIE! (On this site of course). I never thought it had anything to do with one's climbing ability. if it did then Dru flashing all of Tommy Calwell's bold grade VI routes in no time! Quote
OlegV Posted December 31, 2004 Author Posted December 31, 2004 Hey Adrian/Bogen, nice to here from you again! I can't believe how sensitive these people are to any innocent comment! Just let me know when the conditions are right and we can do any crazy climb in BC!!! It is all about weather and partners, isn't it? How about Canadian Rockies this winter? NF of Robson? Anytthing without long slog. Quote
Bogen Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 NF of Robson? Anytthing without long slog. Umm...that'd be at least 3 days for us, not including driving. But sure! Conditions will have to improve, Avy hazard around there is through the roof right now. How about a few days in the Bow valley - couple days of waterfall ice and an easy peak or 2? Quote
OlegV Posted December 31, 2004 Author Posted December 31, 2004 Sound great- I'll see if I can free up some time. Happy New Year! Quote
lancegranite Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 I thought titles were decided by a high level CC.com group that meets in secret, smoky chat rooms. So unknowable that even the mods don't know them by name... This "Executive Administrator Group" (EAG) only meets twice a year in person to donate blood that powers an super computer only known as "D.R.U." Quote
texplorer Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 . . . decided by a high level CC.com group that meets in secret, smoky chat rooms. . . . or say a certain "Muir Hut" Quote
