Was this the webcam you saw? http://www.lbsites.com/campage.htm

If so, yes - it's pretty ugly. All I see is fog.

The snow sensors in the area show ~24 inches of snow, and Anthony Lakes claims ~33 inches of snow, so it may not be too bad. I've never been out there in the winter, though. That Wing Ridge area looks very cool ...

Talked to TG earlier in the week. No snow in the Wallowas, but there is apparently some good ice forming.

Yes, That is the story. There are some beginer ice gullys open that I have never seen climbable before because they have always been snow choked before.

Really? I just talked to the lady at Wing Ridge and she said that the skiing was pretty good, and it snowed 6" last night. We're thinking of staying in the huts this weekend but don't want to do it if there's no snow to ski!!

Yup, I believe you. Well I hope there is enough to ski on anyway. We are going to rent the Big Sheep hut for a couple of nights. If anyone else wants to join, you are more than welcome ... send me a PM.

There isn't much snow at lower elevations around the Wallowas but higher up there's a considerable amount of powder--enough so that I had wished I had used skis on the approach.

The snow was great! We broke trail out to the hut in almost a foot of fresh powder, and it snowed a few more inches over the weekend. There was plenty of snow for skiing, although another foot or two would be ideal to cover up some of the fallen logs in the valleys.
