forrest_m Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 maybe i'm just way behind the times here, but i was searching for an old thread (nov '02) and could not find anything older than about mid-'03. are the old threads gone? not really important, just trying to satisfy some curiosity on a slow afternoon... sobo Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 You have been having better luck than I with the search function, then. I only seem to get hits for threads that have been started since the most recent upgrade. No returns for threads older than a coupla months or so. Quote
OnTop_of_Poo Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 I ate them  Did you use a filter? Was it GOOOD? Quote
forrest_m Posted December 17, 2004 Author Posted December 17, 2004 i wasn't having any luck (i thought because the thread must have had a non-obvious title or something), so since it was a thread that i had posted to, (which eliminates 99.9% of all posts on the board) i used the "view all user posts" from the users list (on my own userid); since i knew the approximate date (early november 2002 ), i figured it would be easy enough to scroll through all my posts for that month (easy for me, maybe not so easy for a high-output poster like dru), but it only gave a total of 200 responses, extending back only about a year. Â i seem to recall something about the old archives being down because of the upgrade but they will slowly come back? anyone know if that's true? Quote
olyclimber Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 You might try to use the "older than" rather than the "newer than". The search tool only seems to have the ability to return 200 results. I just tried it, and got posts going back to '01. Quote
Dru Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Just search the site using Google instead of the cc.com search tool. Quote
chris Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 I've had the same problem as Forrest, but solved it like Dru... Quote
