Jens Posted October 24, 2004 Share Posted October 24, 2004 I'm looking for another modular hammer head to put on one of my original black prophet ice tools (instead of my adze). What are the odds any local shop wold have one in stock? If not, where would I go about finding one online? Would the carbon fiber BP hammer head work? wdietsch Posted October 24, 2004 Share Posted October 24, 2004 The hammer head you want only works on the original BP. It mounts with a "thru" hole. The CFBP was the first of the BD tools to have the hammer/adze piece carry the threads and also carries the threads to mount the pick. Marmot-Bellevue used to be really good at carrying spare parts. You will most likely find one in a local/non chain retail store... all the big box stores (REI, etc) can afford to clear them out and keep a tighter track of inventory... small local shops (Marmot Mtn, etc) don't and should have one laying around.
