snoboy Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Here on teletips.com Made in.... Africa! WTF?! Quote
kioti Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Those are the hottest looking skis I have ever seen. Looks like they hired Terrentino to do the graphics for the Rev. Sweet! Quote
cracked Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Those morons at Teletips are such gear sluts. My God but G3 hit upon a good marketing strategy. "I already have 40 pairs of new skis, but I think I need another pair for this season". Personally, I'm happy to have another bc ski maker on the market. Those things look pretty cool. to G3. Quote
markov Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Yeah, I didn't even need the fluff(er?) article to sell me. Those look awesome. Only the women's ski seems light, and even then, not superlight. Quote
Gaper_Jeffy Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 With all the hype this got I'm disappointed. There's already a ton of skis on the market. Why can't the gapers at G3 figure out how to make a decent releasable, lightweight tele binding? Quote
David_Parker Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 I think G3 makes good stuff so they are probably great skis. Still I'd never pay that much! I'll wait until they start showing up at garage sales. I dunno about having "the rev" staring at me all day either. Quote
chris Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 You should check out Powder and Freeze's ski reviews. $600-$650 for a fat ski is the best deal (new) your going to find! Quote

There's Scotty Bob, but he's the only one. In store prices are $6-$650, more if you want something with real beef to it. Most of the highend freeride skis are ~$800 which isn't much different from the custom/boutique manufacturers. I'm not impressed with the skis, but not surprised it is skis - [snip] Edited October 8, 2004 by snoboy Quote
chris Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 I agree with CJ. The market is dominated by higher priced skis, and $600 seems to be a pretty damn good deal. But thanks for introducing me to Scotty Bob - his designs are interesting. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 why are so many women's skis blue? ps - if you need short skis (like me!), scotty bob's won't work for you. pps - there are too many ways to not pay full retail for a pair of skis to not ... Quote
