telemarker Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 A couple months ago I read a post about some guy in California who does and excellent job resoling climbing shoes. I've looked but can't find the information again. If anyone has it, please send it to me. In fact, any good alternative to Dave Page would be appreciated. Thanks. Suggestions? Quote
Jim Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 There's a guy here in Seattle who's family owns a shoe repair place downtown on Stewart and Fourth. He's the son and only does climbing shoes. Dave Page is backed up big time right now cause his help is off on climbing trips. Dave suggested this guy to me. He also will pick up shoes for resoling from the climbing gyms in town. Quote
Ben Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 I'd also put a plug in for Seattle Boot Works in Ballard. The guy who owns/runs the shop (Sean) does nice work on climbing shoes (and all sorts of other outdoor shoe resoles). Sean is friendly and conscientious -- something I can't necessarily say for Dave Page. The store is on 59th and 24th Ave, in Ballard. Quote
ryland_moore Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 I am religious about this and do not just trust anyone with this job as I've had bad experiences prior to these guys, but if you want high quality and professional work go to Rubber Room in Bishop http://rubberroomresoles.com/ Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted August 27, 2002 Posted August 27, 2002 Definitely a yes on the Rubber Room. Had them resole a few pairs of curvy-lasted, down-cambered sport-climbin' shoes, and they did a stellar job of preserving the shape, fit, and sensitivity, not to mention the workmanship was impeccable. No delams or any crap like that. Give them your shoes and you will be happy. Quote
telemarker Posted August 28, 2002 Author Posted August 28, 2002 Thanks so much for the information. Quote
Jim Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 Mine are supposed to be done tomorrow. I hope he did them before he went on his adventure. Quote
Dru Posted August 29, 2002 Posted August 29, 2002 Quick Cobbler in the West End of Vancouver does a great job and will often do 1-day turnaround, you could drop em off on the way up to Squamish Saturday and pick em up Sunday? Quote

chelle Posted September 2, 2002 Posted September 2, 2002 Telemarker - I've heard okay comments about the rubber room. The place previously mentioned was Barry's Resoles. 559-855-4511 They do a great job and are reasonably priced with good turnaround time. Got my shoes back in about a week. Quote
fixedPin Posted September 3, 2002 Posted September 3, 2002 The cobbler up in Squamish does a great job. $39 Canadian. Done in a week. Really quality work. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted September 3, 2002 Posted September 3, 2002 I second (or third. where are we?) the props for John Ramuta, at 6th and Stewart, SE corner, downtown Seattle. He cares! And his care turns up in his work. Proper bevel, no delams, and, usually, very quick turn-around. He's a good guy, and deserves our business. Â $30 for a half, plus $5 for toe-caps. Quote
