Bouldering, sport, gym...whatever. This mag is about us... by us. What are some things you'd like to see on the pages of the zine? " Quote
ashw_justin Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 "Plastic Paradise"????? WTF?! That's not urban climbing!! That's suburban climbing, you little fuckwads. Urban climbing is pulling the freesolo FA of the Roosevelt Apartments, West Face (II, 5.10) with the muthafuckin po-lice on your ass... Quote
Spliffy Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Too stupid for words, but KOMO gave it a try regardless... Having said that, there is a SWEET hand/fist crack on the Interstate Battery building on James street, in The 'Ham. Quote
ashw_justin Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 True urban climbing, like all other true forms, has consequences. Quote
Mr._Natural Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 like the kid who died recently in the 'ham Quote
Dru Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 FALLING MAGAZINE At the other end of the online publishing spectrum is Falling magazine, published occasionally under the slogan "Hittin' the Deck Since 2002." A group of Canadians headed by Scott Semple produces the satirical journal. So far, two editions have been released. The "cover" of Falling #1 featured a hilarious photo of alpinist Steve House climbing into a rain of money with the tag line: "The simpler you make things, the richer the experience becomes." "Climbing literature has a long history of parody, sarcasm and all-out attacks on the overly dignified and overly self-important," the journal's mission statement reads. " Falling magazine aims to revive this tradition and take it to an all-time low." Check it out at http://www.falling.ca . This doesn't sound much different than the "personal attacks" and allegations of chestbeating that several people on this site have whined about in the past. Except they have their own magazine to do it. Quote
