JoshK Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 Hey all, I'm down in the Salem area for a wedding on Saturday night and a fellow wedding attendee and I want to climb on Sunday. Does anybody have any recommendations for some fun climbing anywhere around that area? If it's on the way back to Seattle, that'll work too, I just don't want to way out of the way to Smith or something. thanks, -josh Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 The Portland Rock Gym's lovely this time of year. Quote
klenke Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 Just so long as the fellow wedding attendee who wants to climb with you is not the bride or groom, I think everything will be all right. Try a sea-stack out on the coast. Hint: at high tide the pitches are shorter. Where as at low tide the rope may suddenly not be long enough for the rappel. Quote

Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 Ugh, no kidding. If the Doctor has to endure another bouldering session accompanied by that repetetive, beeping, thumping swill, he's going to bash someone. How about some music involving, oh, say ... instruments? Quote
Thinker Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 Josh, I dug this up for a friend, ML, awhile back. http://www.portlandrockgym.com/localclimbing.htm Are you climbing with her? Quote
JoshK Posted August 8, 2002 Author Posted August 8, 2002 Thinker, assuming ML are her initials, nope, I'm climbing with somebody else. And for further clarification, nope, I'm not climbing with the bride either. And, finally, I just wanted to use this rockband... Quote

Cool, it was just the whole roadtripping to a wedding in Oregon and wanting to find some climbing thing that tripped the synapses. just had to ask. Quote
freeclimb9 Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 screw climbing, go bigfoot hunting. www.bfro.net Quote
klenke Posted August 9, 2002 Posted August 9, 2002 Why do I get the feeling there's going to be an avatar of "Sasquatch" or "Bigfoot" on this website in the near future now? I should have known such a website as bfro.net would exist. Quote
