JoshK Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Yes, you wont see me trodding up the hill holding a conversation. I don't like seeing others doing it either, but for some of us it's a nescessary evil, and if it makes the GF much more settled, I'm willing to do it. I hear ya about others. There are times when I'm in a place very remote and I get pretty annoyed just seeing other people. I realize it's not fair since they have no less right than me, but it's a natural reaction Quote
Lambone Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 I speak from experiance when I say, DON'T bring your cell phone when climbing WITH your girlfriend. Bad idea... Quote
sobo Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 ...sounds like a good story in there somewhere, Lambone... Quote
JoshK Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Oh there is a story in there It's up to bone if he wants to bring it up again tho. I think it qualifies as a cc.com classic. Quote
Lambone Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 do a search... of course, our situation was totaly different, because no one was injured. Quote
sobo Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 do a search... Closest thing I found was a TR of your NR Stuart trip in September of '02, just post-honeymoon. Nothing about a cell phone and a GF in there, tho... My search terms: Username: Lambone Search terms: cell phone + girlfriend (in subject and body) Forums: all Dates: any date Main posts only Please advise more specific search entries for next query. I'm interested in hearing the story, but a little for beta to refine the search would be good. TIA Quote
mvs Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 add "frostbite ridge" I think? I remember because I did that climb only like a week before, couldn't believe what bad weather Lambone saw... Quote
ivan Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Oh there is a story in there It's up to bone if he wants to bring it up again tho. I think it qualifies as a cc.com classic. oh yeah! shit, how time flies... Quote
catbirdseat Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 I'm confused, did this happen on the snow slope that heads down from where you round the false summit, or in the couloir proper after you turn right from the broader descent area? It happened at the former, that is just below the false summit. The snow was already melted out from the place where you turn right. So this has turned into a cell phone thread. Why don't you just ressurect the last cell phone thread? Quote
sobo Posted July 27, 2004 Posted July 27, 2004 add "frostbite ridge"... FOUND IT! Thanks, mvs, for the "secret beta." Wow, 'bone, what a way to hang in there. Props to the gurlz, too. Ya know, it's almost two years ago now to the very day... Quote
