JoshK Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 I think his decision is sound. It is especially in germany's best interest to portrait it as a victory against the nazis, not generally. I have little sympathy for nazi war-dead. If german citizens think it's disrespectful of "german" war dead than they can take that up with the 40 million french, polish, russian and jewish dead. jordop Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Any body else read this? I got it from Friday's Globe. In the months leading up to D-Day, the Daily Telegraph's crossword contained the words Juno, Gold, Utah, Omaha, Overlord, Mulberru and Neptune. The compiler of the puzzle was a schoolmaster who got his students to fill in blank crossword forms. The students were hanging out outside military camps Quote
