spiderman Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Has anybody been up there recently and checked out how much snow is on the ridge? I would bet it is in ok shape by now, but can anyone verify this assumption? Also, what is the best descent to get back to mountaineer creek, assuming that one parks and approaches via icicle creek, mountaineer creek trail? Any and all beta is greatly appreciated. Quote
ivan Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 don't climb stuart...stuart's dangerous, and scary, and really, really crowded. yeah, don't go there... Quote
John Frieh Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 I would still expect some snow on the slab pitches based on what I saw two weeks ago. The gend. might be wet from snow melt also. Finally, if you are only doing the upper ridge, the entrance couloir is fairly snow filled, so don't expect the 4th class the guide book promises. Sherpa is the descent... some cracks were opening so stay sharp. Kinda still a little early for it. Quote
