bigwalling
Anyone have old leeper hangers they want to get rid of? Or any other junky hangers?
OlympicMtnBoy
I've got some old home made jobbies, a couple of square Troll guys, and some nifty SMC 1/4 inch hangers. I like hanging them on the wall and showing em to sport climbers, but whatd'ya want em for?

bigwalling
No, not trying to get free cam hooks, I have enough of those anyways. I just really like the looks of old hangers. My wall in my bedroom is pretty boring right now except for the Half Dome poster. Â Or maybe they'll end up protecting some slab climbing while trying to get to some aid seam. EWolfe
studying stress/wear issues, I would guess as part of the reason?

EWolfe
speaking of hangers, the madrock ones are thinner with that flare at the cliphole.

Is the flaw in the thinness of the material? or some weird metallurgical reason? or

mattp
I think its a "weird metallurgical reason." Anyway, it is not new news. 'Don't mean to be insulting, but if you didn't know about it, you havn't really been paying a lot of attention. Ed Leeper probably first announced his concerns over his bolt hangers over ten years ago, though he has now apparently renewed his campaign to get the word out. No offense taken; I haven't paid much attention. I did look around & find Leeper's recall. It seems that the problem is not Leeper stuff per se but much/all chromolly hangers of that vintage.
