skyclimb Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 I am looking for an approach shoe that can be used for everyday use(in the city). I like to hike, climb, mtb, and scramble. What do you recommend that is long lasting and comfortable when not scrambling? Thanks in advance Quote
ivan Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 i use my new balance running shoes for everything...they suck for slab climbing, but are good for everything else (including strapping crampons for easy glacier shite) Quote
swaterfall Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 chuck taylor allstars... what more can I say? Quote
eternalX Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 I just bought a pair of Merrill Gore-tex trail runners that are pretty cool. The waterproof design has already saved my ass a couple of times when friends feet have gotten soaked. And the simple blue design is pretty decent looking. I personally hate that all the freaking logos on the damn thing, but what running shoe is not ugly? I think it's $90 at REI and i used my dividend and 20% discount to get it for like $20 The Shoe Quote
Blakej Posted May 11, 2004 Posted May 11, 2004 I've been through three pairs of brooks trail shoes and love them so much I will do whatever is necessary to make them last. They are hard to find but are great all around and relatively cheep. Quote
