klenke Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 Bryan has made a good start, but a couple things to note: a. I sent him an email a while back (October or something) enlightening him of some others he didn't know about. These have not been put on the list. b. He has no picture for a lot of his falls (which is alright considering he has a lot of falls to visit). I sent him some of my pictures of these because he wanted to see what these particular falls looked like. I told him he could use my photos on his site in the interim until he gets in there to take his own shots (Depot Creek Falls was an example). Instead of hosting my picture(s), he said he only hosts his own. That is fine. But it does his site little service to NOT have pictures when pictures are available to him to use. If I go to a site devoted to waterfalls, I'd like to see a picture of the falls. Since waterfalls are a 'picturesque' object, it's all about what they look like. Just a couple of peeves about the guy. Seemed alright otherwise. Quote

JoshK Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 Pfftt...he says you can't kayak Drury Falls. I beg to differ. Anybody want to give it a go with me? Quote
lancegranite Posted March 8, 2004 Author Posted March 8, 2004 Those boats are so little, I'm not sure we can both fit in the cockpit...you should just go first. Quote
ashw_justin Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 (edited) We'll just have to invent a new sport: Aid Kayaking. Use of ropes, fixed anchors, and belay teams to descend otherwise unrunnable river features. The hard part is setting intermediate belay anchors while being pounded by several hundred tons of falling water, while the payoff of the new discipline is the 100 meter freefall that the higher boater gets to do following the placement of said anchor. YEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAWWW!!! edited to attach photo Edited March 8, 2004 by ashw_justin Quote
