AlpinistAndrew Posted February 22, 2004 Posted February 22, 2004 Climbed at Mt. Erie today. It was awesome, it felt like spring or fall, the weather and the views were amazing. We climbed Zig Zag route on Snag Buttress. We then went over to the Shady Hollow area and climbed the Allen Henshaw Pre-Memorial Route and the sport climb Finger Licken Good just to the right. We then drove up to the summit and went to the summit wall and climbed some random crack. Good times, it was nice to practice my trad skills. Quote
Billygoat Posted February 22, 2004 Posted February 22, 2004 Great couple days for it! I was at Index Friday and skiing up at Baker yesterday. Pm me next time you go to Erie AA. I live a short ferry ride away and I am trying to get more time on those walls. There are some interesting cracks around the corner, lookers right, from Zig Zag. I did one but wasn't sure it was the one in the old guide book, unless it was totally sandbagged. Found a really old LA but opted not to clip it. Quote
plexus Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Dallas probably placed that lost arrow back in the 70s!! Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 We were at Power Line Wall all day. Could here the Mounties doing rescue practice on some other crag. Great views and a great place to get my head back into climbing. Quote
leejams Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Ahhhh, I knew you looked a bit familiar. Must have seen your mug shot here on cc.com. You were the dude with curly hair, yelling and having fun, with a chica in blue? Right on, it was an awesome day to be out there. Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 (edited) Yes that was me. I missed the eagles 'cause I was leading when they flew by. I had to call bullshit on that party that wanted to rap the route that I was leading. Edited February 23, 2004 by Dave_Schuldt Quote
leejams Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Yeah those eagles were a bonus. Counted 5 of em all just riding around on the updrafts. Quote
AlpinistAndrew Posted February 24, 2004 Author Posted February 24, 2004 you saw five eagles, dang, I only got to see one, but it was still cool. Quote
plexus Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Eagles, vultures (really comforting on a sketchy route), hawks, they're all there all the time. I think it was more infrequent NOT to see a raptor on a trip to Erie, especially if you go to the Main Wall, Skyline Arete or Powerline areas. Quote
