Folsom, CA

Who knows what about this place? I know this is in Spray, but but it wasn't necessarilly climbing related, so it seemed like the right place. I've got a serious question here. There's a job opportunity for me, and I don't know anything about the place aside from the fact that it's on the way to Tahoe. I don't know how far or whether this place is just an icky Bellevue on the way there. Spray away.

Drove through the old town area once. Looked nice, but didn't impress me enough to go back. There's a prison there that Johnny cash sang about. Also a man made lake nearby. Sorry, it's not much help.

Folsom is really just a suburb or 'next door neighbor' to Sacramento. I have a bud who lives there and seems to enjoy it.

 

The nearby Calaveras Dome has been on my 'to do' list for quite some time now.

 

It's only 100 miles from Sacramento to Lovers Leap and South Lake Tahoe climbing.

 

There should be tons of good rock climbing within 100 miles or less.

I lived there for about a year back in 93 and that area sucks hard. Travel 2 hours east and go to truckee or north shore

Sucks how hard? From demographics and what little I've found online, I suspect it's a pretty sterile Wonderbreadville Okay, that would suck pretty hard.

actually the area is not too bad. i would move to norcal b4 moving anywhere else.

 

and you are closer then 100 miles to lovers leap more like 60 miles or so. lots of recrations.

 

folsom lives pretty much inbetween hwy 50(road to s lake) and hwy 80 (road to n lake) the bay area is about an 1.5 hours away which includes the ocean and what not.

 

the air here in salt lake is far worse then the area in the central valley.

 

if i were you i would investigate.

I can't believe that Brawley, CA or San Bernardino, CA aren't on that list. Washinton State doesn't have any on the list. What about Kent or Yelm?
