goatboy Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 (edited) Hey folks, Can anyone confirm the status of the Death Icicles that were perched above Devil's Punchbowl last weekend? With the current warming trend, I am imagining they are growing fatter, but perhaps de-laminating from the ceiling and crashing down. I hope that they are coming down, as I am not inclined to venture below them until they do. Paul Detrick or others, please report if you have an update to share. Thanks in advance. Lambone Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 Forget Devils Punchbowl...climb the other stuff in the area, way better. And you can still TR most of them if you don't wanna lead. Quote
JoshK Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 How was stuff at Banks Lake? Worth the drive out there? Quote
Paul_detrick Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 Sorry could not play today, plan on going in the morning, will report back than. Quote
Paul_Certa Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 On Sat, 1/11, around 11 am, the deathcicles looked (it was foggy and hard to see clearly) like they were still there even though there were three parties on the ice. Quote
geordie Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 As of SUNDAY 1/11.. Quiet in the AM but around noon more of the 'cicles of death resumed their reign of terror. We got some laps on Trotsky's Folly though. Quote
Paul_detrick Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Thanks Paul. never made it up that far, climbed at the sunlakes golf course, was too warm, if it don't get cold again it will all go away. Better hurry if you want some. Quote
