What you propose is simply an inefficient allocation of resources. Luckily consumers in America tend to place their dollar vote with efficient allocation.

No, pp, I'm not claiming to even know what I want. I believed the University of Chicago-type free market/efficient capital market BS that I was fed in B school. But I realize now that those concepts are only partly true. If a trading partner does not have an open market and chooses to purposely import US$, that's not fair trade.

 

As far as Walmart, I'll pay extra to avoid the human trash that tend to congregate in Walmart parking lots and stores. It ain't worth it.

obviously 'fair trade' is a subjective concept. I guess I'd start with one that both sides view as equitable.
