Peter_Puget Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 All great places to shop. What you propose is simply an inefficient allocation of resources. Luckily consumers in America tend to place their dollar vote with efficient allocation. PP Quote
RobBob Posted December 4, 2003 Author Posted December 4, 2003 No, pp, I'm not claiming to even know what I want. I believed the University of Chicago-type free market/efficient capital market BS that I was fed in B school. But I realize now that those concepts are only partly true. If a trading partner does not have an open market and chooses to purposely import US$, that's not fair trade. As far as Walmart, I'll pay extra to avoid the human trash that tend to congregate in Walmart parking lots and stores. It ain't worth it. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 You may not know what you want but you do seem to know about "fair trade". Please explain to me what it is. Quote
RobBob Posted December 4, 2003 Author Posted December 4, 2003 obviously 'fair trade' is a subjective concept. I guess I'd start with one that both sides view as equitable. Quote

Peter_Puget Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 What evidence do you have that the parties in the current exchanges view their current transactions as unequitable? Quote
