kurthicks Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 Has anyone been up the NE buttress couloir route since this weather came in? Thinking of doing it this weekend... any beta is good beta. Quote
JayB Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 Dragontail as of last weekend. No ice visible in any of the gullies. There is ice forming on the sides of the water flowing down Asgard Pass, and ice just starting to form on the Lakes at the top of the pass though if you are looking to gauge recent temps up there. Need to fill the gullies with some snow and qet some serious melt-freeze action going before it will be worth making the hike to check things out IMO.- Quote
Lambone Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 Go to Stuart if you are seeking ice. There is lots of very visable ice on the North Face. Unfortunately I didn't have my digi cammera, only a disposable one, that needs to be developed. It'd be worth the hike in for a look, and if you are ready for it, there is climbing to be had, just don't swing too hard. Quote
kurthicks Posted October 31, 2003 Author Posted October 31, 2003 thanks, that's what i suspected. time for alternate plans. Quote
