Should Rush Limbaugh continue as KGMI's flagship

broadcast prgram?

Rush said on Friday, 10/10, that his continuing use of

"prescription pain medication" (which he purchased

ILLEGALLY WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION) was due to lingering

neck pain See

http://www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/10/10/rush.limbaugh/

But, just a few short months ago in an interview about

his golf game, he stated "there was nothing wrong with

him" See

http://www.asapsports.com/golf/2003celebrity/071703RL.html

(response to second question)

His noted rapid hearing loss was likely the result of

this addiction. See

http://www.suntimes.com/output/entertainment/cst-nws-rush11.html.

This hearing loss began in 2000. See

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A3408-2003Oct9.html

So, Rush has been in the grip of a significant

addiction for at least three years (in his on-air

admission he said "the past several years"). What has

he said about people who break the law and do drugs

(like he has)? "And so if people are violating the law

by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they

ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up [to

prison]." See

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/10/13/politics/main577682.shtml

I recommend a campaign to remove Rush Limbaugh's

broadcast program from local radio programming (KGMI).

After all, he admitted on Friday that he was "no role

model." Why should we risk exposing our *GASP!*

children to the on-air rantings of a criminal drug

addict? If Brett Booner (still KGMI's programming

director) cares about kids, surely he will understand!

Please contact KGMI at kgmi@kgmi.com or go to their

webpage at http://www.kgmi.com/default.asp and let our

only "local" commercial station know how you feel.

PS: As for anyone, addiction is a tragedy, Rush's no

less. It is Rush's hypocrisy that needs condemnation,

and it is to that end I think his credibility to be

America's self appointed "truth detector" should be challenged.

I am a right winger, but an addict is an addict. He needs to get on with a program for his addiction. I don't have the time to read all the material you posted, but if he is blaming other etc. then he needs to look in the mirror.

Like I said I never read the articles. If he is guilty of a crime then he needs to go to court and defend himself. If found guilty then its off to the Big House with Otis. moon.gifpitty.gif
