Stefan Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 I know in previous posts people talked about the Euro Death Knot and the Double Fisherman's Knot and the pros and cons of each knot. But has anyone ever tried this knot to join to ropes, and is it strong??? http://www.scoutingresources.org.uk/knots_az03.html#zepplin Quote
iain Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 When it comes to securing zepplins, there's simply no alternative. Quote
ctuller Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 Looks like it could get stuck too easily when retriving that rap line. Quote
catbirdseat Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 I have never heard of the Zepplin Bend, but it would appear to have more chance of catching on things when being pulled than the EDK. This appears to be a modification of the carrick bend, which is a very strong knot (but unties too easily to be useful for climbing). Very interesting knot though. It looks tricky to tie. Quote
Rodchester Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 Hey Lummux...nice rack. IS that a trad rack, or a sport (plastic) rack? Quote

Rodchester Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 Lummux. With that rack, I'd climb either trad or sport, any time, any where!!! Quote
lummox Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 joke: When I was 14 I hoped that one day I would have a girlfriend. When I was 16 I got a girlfriend, but there was no passion. So I decided that I needed a passionate girl with a zest for life. In college I dated a passionate girl, but she was too emotional. Everything was an emergency; she was a drama queen who cried all the time. So I decided I needed a girl with stability. When I was 25 I found a very stable girl but she was boring. She was totally predictable and never got excited about anything. Life became so dull that I decided that I needed a girl with some excitement. When I was 28 I found an exciting girl, but I couldn't keep up with her. She rushed from one thing to another, never settling on anything. She did mad, impetuous things and made me miserable as often as happy. She was great fun initially and very energetic, but directionless. So I decided to find a girl with some real ambition. When I turned 31, I found a smart ambitious girl with her feet planted firmly on the ground and married her. She was so ambitious that she divorced me and took everything I owned. I am now 40 and looking for a girl with a very big rack. Quote
