So here I am opening boxes and digging thru closets for old mags trying to research a summer project and I come across an old issue of Ascent (one of the first climbing mags I ever purhcased). After reading this I thought others might find it interesting. It is from the 1972 issue. Sorry attachment didn't work. Try the link.

crack jumar was like a friend but not spring loaded, d'oh. greg lowe stole the idea from vitaly abalakov then claimed to have invented it himslf... but it was jardine what patented it.
