This applies to anyone, pro or anti war.

Anyone who has watched tv recently has seen it. It starts off by someone insincerely stating some of the main points of the anti war movement. Then, a picture of a screaming child is shown and then a cheesy plea for the Iraqi people.

In my opinion liberating the Iraqi people has about zero to do with the war. There are many reasons to do it. Whether they are just or not isn't the issue.

In my opinion it is a shameless commercial meant to bolster approval ratings for the war when it has absolutely nothing to do with our government's motivation. It is insulting to mine and everyone else's intelligence.

Are we some backwards nation that can't face the truth of our own motivations and need propaganda that makes us feel good about what we are doing?

Unfortunately... yes.

Have you heard that commercial that starts out, "He's a war monger! All he wants is oil!" Towards the end they explain they are referring to Saddam Hussein. Up until that point I was certain they were referring to George W. Bush.

"We now interrupt our regularly programmed pro-war evening news to bring you a pro-war commercial. Stay tuned for more pro-war programming later."

When did our government take over the news? confused.gif I thought the tv medium was supposed to be independent. Hahahhahahaahahaaa oh how I kill me. hahaha.gif

That is hillarious! I was sure they were referring to Bush.
