Seen anyone use these tents on Denali or have first hand knowledge of these tents? Pros? Cons? Would you bet your life on these tents? Want to hear both sides! erik Posted March 12, 2003 Share Posted March 12, 2003 i slept in a stetch dome in the coast range back in 94.... i truly enjoyed the tent pole whipping me in the head all night after it broke due to a huge windstorm!! other then that the tent sux... Lambone Posted March 13, 2003 Share Posted March 13, 2003 Stretch dome has a pretty high profile Ryland, I don't think i'd want to be in one on Denali, unless you don't mind digging and building walls, then it could be a good base tent. COL._Von_Spanker Posted March 13, 2003 Share Posted March 13, 2003 I have the Hercules. It's stout tent, so you wont have to worry about the thing blowin' down. The one downfall is it's sort of a chore to get set up if you are anal about having the fly nice and taught. The reason is that due to the jakes corners the fly attaches in a number of places, which some will say gives one a lot of adjustment, but I say it make it harder to adjust. Since it's a two pole design the fly will touch the walls if its not guyed out (many tents are this way). The fly material is noisy in the wind.
