Distel32
One of these should be very easy, the second might take a few guesses....

klenke
Are the lakes in the same general place? First one: one of those in the Enchantments?
Off_White
Maybe if you had a peak in the background of those lakes you might get some takers
Distel32
good point, nope not enchantments. First lake is 11 miles in and quite a ______, second lake is "near" the index area, northeast of index and it should be "clean" not great hints, but might help a little
eric8
is the first 1 columbia or whatever lakes that are pasted monte cristo
Distel32
nope, the first one is 7 miles past pete lake, and the second one is on the approach to monte cristo from the south  Basically gives it away there
eric8
so the second one is balanca
Distel32
close enough, it's virgin, about a half mile or so before blanca but higher elevation.
eric8
okay, i thought it was kinda small, i have never actually been to blanca, i was just guess based on your clues
Distel32
yeah, I'm a little surprised no one has got the first one yet, thought that was going to be a give away!

Distel32
oh so close, but not quite  Lake number one is spectacle lake, and finally an end is brought to this dreadful thread that I am ashamed to say that I started.....
JoshK
Damn, I actually knew that second one was virgin lake before reading the rest of the thread. Somebody obviously had a sense of humor when they named that thing... Â Were you up there recently? Blanca lake is beautiful.
erik
the hike to blanca lake strikes me as weird......  and scree mtns around the glacier make a cool ass traverse....horseshoe style
Distel32
no haven't been up there since november, picture was taken weekend before thanksgiving. I was attempting to solo kyes, but when I got to blanca, I could see snow coming down the west slope of kyes because it was something around 45 degrees, it would of been a nasty climb. Off_White
Being a sucker for alpine lakes with islands, I've always wanted to go to Spectacle. Lakes are cool, nothing to be embarassed about.
Distel32
no better "shower" than an alpine lake on long trips!

nolanr
Spectacle L. is pretty sweet. I have determined there is no good way from the lake up to the Lemah massif, gonna be some bush wacking and swearing no matter which way you go.
