Resole mountaineering boots

Where is the best place to resole mountaineering boots in the Seattle area? (I tried searches and FAQ, nothing in this site). I have a pair of Montrails that are just plain worn out. Thanks

Try Dave Page in Fremont or Ramuta (sp?)

Dave Page resoled my Raichle Montangna boots and I was happy with the work. The cost was $60 and it takes up to a week.

I take my shoes to Ramuta's. - I've found their turn-around to be a little faster than Dave Page.

Ramuta's says they do rock shoes and sandals, but do they resole boots?

 

They claim to be the only third generation shoe repair in Seattle. I believe Chick's on Mercer Island is also third generation.

Ramuta's doesn't do hiking/mountaineering boots. I just asked them a few days ago.

That sux. Oh well. I though they did cause I was there and a guy was getting vibram lug soles put on his dress shoes, but I think they were wussy lugs.

Are Montrails really worth resoling? My only resole experience was with Raichle Eigers 'cause I loved them and thought they'd go a few years. One season was it. They next year they blew out three miles from the car and I had to tie the soles back on wrapping accessorie cord around the whole thing to get me back. That's my last resole on low end climbing boots.

I like my Montrails, they are wide and lots of rubber on the toe for alpine rock routes. I have several hundred miles on them, a dozen alpine rock climbs, a few glacier climbs, they've held up well. I'll give Dave a try and see what happens. Might be better off buying new.
