off, just making a point. you are right though and you point out an excellent point. who should adminster the public lands?? i truley believe there is no definitive answer to this question. i do not disagree with the collecting of reasources from public lands. it is impossible to do so, mostly because we all wipe our asses and we all(most) live in lumbar strutuces and have metal products. but there are more efficent and enviromentally sound ways to do so. but when it comes down to it as with everything in america it is a monetary answer. this is proven to us with the permit systems and parking passes and user groups.(higlighted pefrctly by the st helens snowmobile sitmo) the states could possibly give a better local perspective on the use of public lands, but unfortuantly they are money mongers too. it is great to sit here and read these debates or read simialr debates in other places. the thing that gets me, is how BOTH sides are wrong. enviros and business. a compromise should be in order, but the selfishness of both groups is sickening. i think the best plan would be for the majority of actual users to tell enviros, the deforrest service and special interests to shut the fuck up and leave our land alone. i read allison exremist leftist remarks on the interpetation of the w.s. 64' and laugh to myself. fuck the trails, that shit was made by man and is as permanent an istallation as the shit houses they helo in there, as the signs the bolt to tress. if we are to truly have wiulderness then we need to keep the non-wilderness hardy people out of there. if your weak ass cannot climb over 57 trees or navaigate a non-trailed area then you deserve to die where you sit down and quit. it is very easy to sit here and type these remarks as it means very little. just as the wilderness act means very little. interpetastion is the key here. once we are dead and the next few generations come in, they will bitch at what we fucked up, and they will continue down the same path we are. americans and humans in general are leeches of the earth. wheter they work(ed) for ENRON or "volunteer" for greenpeace. just as everything humans touch the wilderness is tainted. there is no legacy there only potential business and interetpations to antiqueted laws. so instead of bitching(which is a specialty of mine and very easy to do) GO FUCKING TAKE CARE OF IT YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!

i would have to say that the back log in clearning and repairing trails this year is in direct relation to the forrest demo parking pass...has anyone else not figured this one out?? it is pretty blatlently abvious that that is the situation. i am sure you can call the ranger offices and make a complaint and you would hear something about having not enough money or workers, because of the lack of funding. they are trying to 'prove' to us that we need the parking money. it is bullshit. wilderness act is a great thing. though like most broad sweeping laws there is and will be many interpetations. i read on thing above saying that the wilderness is out heritage. WRONG it has nothing to do with americans, it is what belongs to the earth not us or the usfs or the nps or the wilderness society. we have the provalage the ability to travel there, that is all. to claim ownership or claim control over it, is selfish and assine.

also the success that climbing brings is short lived. being successful at work or with friends or other sports is just as meaningful and worth while. i would never solely sell my soul to climbing as i see that as self limiting. i have many friends who do not climb and i am glad. because i can only talk so much about climbing, before it gets boring...blah blah blah...crank this, crank this......steep, thin, wide....blah blah blah..... the thing with climbers that i have notices is that most of them share the same perspectives on things...great!!! but there is always more...i try to observe the world for all aspects and if i committed solely to climbing what would i lose in between?? more then i think.....or could even imagine..... i was hittin it pretty hard early in the year...crankin many days and pushing myself...it was great, but as the summer moves along and i find myself enjoying climbing, but i also find myself enjoying many other things too......but in many ways i find myself getting bored with it....i no ways does that mean i will quit or stop or really take a break, but i am scaling back...i see no harm in this...i can climb near my level off the couch and accomplish what i want.....so i have no complaints.....and i am having alot of fun in between , enjoying things that climbing in no way could ever give me...

well i would have to say the only thing climbing REALLY means to me is not much. granted it is great fun and i love being misrable and i love stylin it. the mental and physical conditioning that i recieve ain't too bad either. but in the long run, the gains from climbing are paltry compared the things that i gain from interpersonal action. wheter it be climbing or soccer or just hangin out and meeting new people is what i see the greatest thing in life. climbing cannot even compare. also climbing takes more then it gives back, financially, mentally, physically, socially and spiritually.....it certainly returns most of those things in form or another, but not in tune with the original output....so from a business standpoint it is a poor investment! last thing on it, i am going to say is that the people who attempt to enlighten us on all the foo foo trancensding bullshit need to come back to reality....abnd should maybe consider only hittin' the 2ft bong opposed to the 3 footer.... it is a sport and not much more..... bb is an awesome climb! the best one at lower castle. the protection is very good on it, especially at both mini roofs. commitment to the swing and thrown your right foot up. for the 2nd roof i straddle the block(you hear that ladies!!) and then go for the good locks. have fun and crank that bastard. remember to stayed calm and to breath! and it will seem trivial!

i love handling bicyclist vs mv. i dont care whos at fault. but i will say that bike commuter believe themselves holier then thou...don't get me wrong i have just started riding my bike to work once or twice a week. but when i have to deal with a cyclist they always seem to have a bigger attitude. the typical respsonse from the driver is "i did not see them". now in my opinion i can understand both sides of the case. so all i can say, is that YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY is YOUR RESPONSIBILTY!! no the drivers, not your moms, certianly bad things happen and people make mistakes, but i do not think being irate will solves the problem. matter of fact it will probably create a larger one. case in point a cetain cyclist in federal way tried to slam me for not doing my job. well i went out researched the loss and the scene doubled my witness statements and all applicable laws and got his claim denied. he lost out on gettin his trek carbon fiber road bike repaired. he was an asshole. served him no good. that goes for driver and riders. so instead of throwing your air tech at someone or bustin a cap in someone...think to yourself about how you can be a better rider or driver. because you will not change anyone. though ken schram's editorial was pukey. i could really go off, but there is no point. i say everyone should shut the up have a nice day, mind just got better!!
