  1. It's hard to think about beer drinking on a Monday morn, but I definitely do like the Buckaroo. What a wonderful establishment.

    Im Drunk!

    Is pisco the culprit here?
  3. Yes. If you get more than just one point of view, regardless how "sided" it is, then you'll probably be able to better form your own ideas and opinions. The more perspectives you get of something, chances are the better you'll understand it.
  4. I wholeheartedly agree. Here are some that I know of... World Press Review - this is a great summary of news from all over the globe, with little backgrounds on what stance each news source takes, how it is funded, etc... Arab News Arabia.com Israeli paper Chinese news agency Indonesian weekly Al-Jazeera - though it's in Italian, the government has blocked access to the english one Baghdad civilian's daliy updates from within Bhagdad. just to name a few.
  5. Well, sadly enough, it seems like this quote is still alive and strong today. Some ideas never die.
  6. But there are definitely people out there that feel that way. I've even heard things like, "Kill 'em all! Let god sort 'em out!". People are fucking sick. I just wanted to post some images of a more realistic result of these bombings, something the US media is too afraid to show.
  7. No, I'm definitely *not* serious. But I am waiting for Mr. Rumsfeld to come after me for showing pictures of dead Iraqi civilians.
  8. Actually, chances are that it was delivered to some starving Iraqi civilians. Who cares though! Boom! Boom!

    NEWS FLASH!!

The real reason that Trask doesn't go to Pub Clubs is because he's the only person on the BB that doesn't climb and he'd have nothing to talk about!
  10. Thanks for the link. Damn, it doesn't look like there's much snow left
  11. Only boring people get bored.
  12. This is *not* bull! I've done it on a total smooth tabletop.
  13. Anyone know what snow conditions are like in the Methow Valley? I was thinking of taking my girlfriend up there for part of her spring break for some x-country skiing, maybe some backcountry skiing, chillin' in some huts, etc etc. Normaly things start winding down around this time of year, though I don't know what it's like this season. Thanks.
  14. I defend nobody but myself. But do I really exist? That is the question.
  15. It's there. Try the next page.

    Snafflehounds?

I just went to go see Beckey's climbing slideshow last night and he actually mentioned the Snafflehound. He said how aweful these things were and how they chewed through some of his ropes and will pretty much eat all of your gear. Vicious things. Forgive me for being naive, but I've never even heard of these things before cc.com, and I just thought they were Dru's invention or something. What in the hell are these creatures actually, and are they really called that? Is there some other common name given to them? Any biologists out there? Just curious, cuz I don't think I've ever seen one before.

    NEWS FLASH!!

Regarding the whole issue of the gassing of the Kurds, you should really at least read a little of what this guy has to say. His name is Seargent Stan Goff, and he's a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Master and was an instructor of military science at West Point. Pretty credible source I may say... Anyway, here's the link and a thread that I thought may be interesting for those that think Saddam is gassing his own people... http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/031703_rolling_start.html Anyone who has followed the news has heard about "Saddam's" gassing of the Kurds. That's how it is portrayed. Nonetheless, few people have bothered to find out what the truth is, or even to investigate this claim. Stephen Pelletiere was the Central Intelligence Agency's senior political analyst on Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war. He was also a professor at the Army War College from 1988 to 2000. In both roles, he had access to classified material from Washington related to the Persian Gulf. In 1991, he headed an Army investigation into Iraqi military capability. That classified report went into great detail on Halabja. Halabja is the Kurdish town where hundreds of people were apparently poisoned in a chemical weapons attack in March 1988. Few Americans even knew that much. They only have the article of religious faith, "Saddam gassed his own people." In fact, according to Pelletiere – an ex-CIA analyst, and hardly a raging leftist like yours truly – the gassing occurred in the midst of a battle between Iraqi and Iranian armed forces. Pelletiere further notes that a "need to know" document that circulated around the US Defense Intelligence Agency indicated that US intelligence doesn't believe it was Iraqi chemical munitions that killed and aimed the Kurdish residents of Halabja. It was Iranian. The condition of the bodies indicated cyanide-based poisoning. The Iraqis were using mustard gas in that battle. The Iranians used cyanide. The lack of public critical scrutiny of this and virtually all current events is also evident on the issue of the Kurds themselves. The story keeps going, it's really interesting. Give it a read, you might just learn something.
  20. Got it. King of Spray.
  21. I'm starting up the Dru fan club. We're going to sell T-shirts that say WWDD? on the front, and "What would Dru do?" on the back, with a drawing of some dude just unloading his gut and spraying all over the place. King of Spray! Dru! Now, where's that vomitting graemlin?
  22. Holy Sheit. We're approaching a monumental moment here folks. 9,990 for Dru! So what's his 10,000th post going to be like? Any speculations? Dru, have you planned the big moment?
  23. Nope, I'll vouch for Dalius. I met him at Pub Club. Don't go spreading vicious rumors. Dalius is not DFA. Catbirdseat? Who the hell is catbirdseat? I've never met anyone by that name. Hell, I've never even been to one of those Pube Clubs. Who's making up stories around here?
  24. I agree. Regardless on what side of a fence you sit on, it's safe to say that today is a very sad day. For anone that has a concience that is...
  25. Man, I leave for a little bit and all hell breaks loose 'round here. Sheesh. This is getting very tiring. Yes, I think they would. Don't you? Oh really. So you're saying that just because we're mad that Osama Bin Laden went and killed a bunch of Americans, we're allowed to go kill whoever we want? Really? Oh, I forgot, this is America, we can do whatever the hell we please. It's our god given right, right up there with cheap gas. ScottP, I was just commenting on VeggyBelay's poster stating basically something like "Move over you liberals, We'll protect America". It seemed that VeggyBelay was talking about protecting america from some attacker, that being Iraq. My only argument was that Iraq never attacked us, it was Bin Laden, and there is absolutely no connection between the two. Therefore, we can't justify using 9/11 and our emotional trauma for going and attacking Iraq. That is totally weak and lame. These are two totally seperate issues (Osama and Iraq) and should stay that way. There has never been a shred of proof that there is any link between the two, but our president and the media has done a really great job convincing the American public that there actually is!!! For some reason, nobody seems to be able to come up with any proof. Personally, I think the pres. is super embarrased that he couldn't find Osama and doesn't want to look like more of an ass, so he's drummed up some mystery evidence to link Osama to Saddam and is now using that to rally the American people to support the war in Iraq. It's worked on some people, but there are lots others, including me, that think it's bull and are still waiting for this convincing evidence. It's probably just as good as those forged documents that the US was trying to use as proof that Saddam was building nukes. Remember that? Seems to have gotten swept under the rug rather quickly eh? It's just sad that our government is so full of fucking lies and deceit and so many fucking minions walk around happy being fed this shit.
