[img:left]http://www.dcglove.com/images/products/2150R.jpg[/img] Golden Eagle Gloves lined with Heatlok Form Fitting, velcro, synthetic back, deerskin leather palm. insulated, fleece inside. i use these if its pretty cold [img:left]http://www.dcglove.com/images/products/2152.jpg[/img] White Eagle Gloves very form fitting, same velcro synthetic combo, goatskin leather palm, not insulated, quite thin. these were great for when it was warm/ or "balmy" i think each are around 11 dollars. no bulkiness like loose leather gloves either. these things hug your hands pretty well.

Edelrid python 10mm x 60 M - $99 Edelrid hawk 10mm x 60 M ($130) or 70 M (150) i just got the python in the mail the other day... havent climbed on it yet but has nice feel oh and i suppose you want the link http://www.bouldering.com/categories/Climbing-Ropes/ yes its a bouldering site. guess they dont really need ropes. go figure.
-
just ordered an edelrid 10mm 60m off of bouldering .com for 100 bux... damn good price. friend just ordered one and i held it looks great and feels nice havent belayed or climbed on one tho. cant wait for mine. have a pmi 9.7 and love it... supple a mammut flash superdry 10.4 and like it too but gets realllly dirty and is kinda stiff but a great projecting rope.

Intelligent hip belaying is never 'cross body' and a belaying with munter is so lousy and hard on ropes I'd never consider it except in an emergency scenario. There are a few ways to employ both hands to belay such that one is never off the brake side of the device, the one in that video is patently ridiculous. I'm not getting near a rock with anyone doing that. Again, that's about as lowest common denominator excuse for belaying as I can imagine - kind of a sad indicator of a general 'lowering of the bar' in climbing. hahah ok. archaic viewpoints a plenty with you eh?
-
completely agree. its that whole dummed down for the masses thing that comes with the "i have my gym belay cert" thing and now that climbing appeals to the yoga/soccer scene.
-
sss works great for hip belay and munter belay... which is where it was developed. think about it.... in hip belay most braking is cross body, and in munter most braking is straight up. not so much with tube devices

cycling bar tape? havent used it on tools but no slip, waterproof, and good insulation (all depending on type). spent alot of time riding in the rain and holds up great for that application.
-
yep this is what ive used for alot of climbing and mountaineering. i scrapped the standard lanyard and make an adjustable one that is made out of thin parachute cord and long enough to go around my neck and take on and off with a helmet etc.... that way less worry about it slipping. i have a canon sd900 or something
-
you are right. sorry. i just knew that back in the day it was same ownership. i was not aware of the split. thanks
