Ya man. I second that. I mean we all do stupid stuff but that really could have been avoided.

What were the conditions of that 1:58 ascent? If that was a typical hike in, hike out I am impressed. -
did anyone go to index today?
summitchaserCJB replied to kinnikinnick's topic in Rock Climbing Forum
It was raining at Stevens. If it is raining anywhere, it is usually raining at Index. -
Free solo speed record on the Tooth?
summitchaserCJB replied to summitchaserCJB's topic in Alpine Lakes
Oh ya. I know about that one. It is actually 87 minutes car to car but that is with a ride up the chair lift and skiing out. But I was talking about the actual climb but oh well. -
I know this is kinda silly. But does anyone know if there is one? I've done it in 10 minutes. Probably could shave that down a bit.

Trip: The Tooth and Rap wall-ish - South Face of the Tooth Date: 1/22/2010 Trip Report: Todd (toddtsuyoshi) and I headed up to Snoqualmie pass yesterday. We started out with some WI 2+ and snow climbing near the rap wall. Then we headed to the Tooth for some dry-tooling and alpine climbing. The approach gully added some additional fun. We summited probably around 6 and rapped off. We had a small problem with a stuck rope which I had to fix. Gear Notes: Pretty small rack

Are Hiking and Scrambling Trip Reports ok?
summitchaserCJB replied to Josh Lewis's topic in Climber's Board
Not me- I sit around and read about climbing when I can't do it. -

Ya agreed. I guess it is primarily "alpine" oriented. -

" Climbing by my definition is using hands and feet to navigate technical sections. " I will, however, add this caveat. There are certain climbs that I consider "climbs" because of circumstances such as altitude, psychological factors, ect. So as I said, it is subjective. -

haha. I think my climbing is inversely proportional to my time spent on cascade climbers. -

And Mark no one said anything about clipping bolts. It isn't like the options are A. scramble and B. sport climbing. There is ice, alpine, mountaineering. -
Are Hiking and Scrambling Trip Reports ok?
summitchaserCJB replied to Josh Lewis's topic in Climber's Board
Seriously? Climbing by my definition is using hands and feet to navigate technical sections. My opinion is that if you have to ask, as Mr. Lewis did, whether something should be added it probably shouldn't be. But what the hell. -

Ya true. I do, however, get off the couch so I think I have a vote in this. -
Are Hiking and Scrambling Trip Reports ok?
summitchaserCJB replied to Josh Lewis's topic in Climber's Board
alright alright. I've kept my mouth shut but I've gotta chime in. There is obviously some subjectivity in this process. But some dude posting pics and info about his trip up Pilchuck over and over is going to change what CC is about. Ya some climbs are more boring than others (some climbs of Rainier are boring little hikes essentially), but this site is still about climbing. We shouldn't need to define that as it is very intuitive. -

Scrambling isn't climbing. Use your own judgement. -
The large shock on spine from short groundfalls?
summitchaserCJB replied to Jens's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
I'm not a M.D. but ya it is possible to bruise the spine. You could have a stress fracture though. I've bruised bones many times and they heal.
