It is not a hypocrisy at all. She had the integrity to do precisely what she has asked of others during the entireity of her political career. Her daughter made a mistake and they are dealing with it in a way that is consistent with their political beliefs. Your right it was a sin. We all do. The way she handled the situation is what sets her apart, not her political affiliation. Maybe you could be more open minded. Those that believe that abortion is murder would,, of course have a problem with a teen pregnancy that ended up with an abortion. You know nothing of Bristol Palin. You know even less about her relationship to the father. Maybe you should think about that before you start calling out epithets.

I think that Palin, if nothing else, put her money where her mouth is. She DIDN'T pressure her daughter to get a hush hush abortion. Shit happens and even the best parents cannot prevent this from happening to their kids. I applaud her for keeping the kid; afterall, it is a perfect example of practicing what you preach. I don't see this as a negative mark on the campaign and that her constituency will see that as well.

These are not new powers. This has been going on for a long long time. You are just hearing about it now because it is affecting yuppies driving their BMW's to their tee-time.

You are assuming these things. I do not. You assume that the government is out to get you. I'm not assuming any such thing. This is based on history from many other like governmental efforts, from airport security to the FBI monitoring of mosques. And I don't assume that the government is out to get me. I may think that God is out to get me, or that aliens are out to get me, but not the government. I do assume, correctly, that the government makes a lot of mistakes, is incompetent, is overzealous, does a poor job of tracking the effectiveness of its efforts, prioritizes mythical problems created by politicians over real ones, doesn't know how to use it's resources effectively, and has a habit of creating programs which take on a life of their own and spiral out of control. So why are you afraid that the government is going to come to your house and detain you?
