  1. Probably a bit to far for me to drive for boots that I think might be to small.
  2. I'd definitely be interested if you're in/near the Bellingham area I wouldn't mind taking a look at them before I purchase 'cuz I think that a might need 11's instead.
  3. I'd agree with some of the other posters and say that if I could only do a few trad lines on the main formations I would do: Zebra/Zion Karate Crack Pioneer Route on Monkey face (or the west face variation) Spider-man Super slab to avoid the lame misery ridge hike Cinnamon Slab is just okay There's good trad to be had in the Upper and Lower Gorge if you can find someone to show you around, otherwise it could turn into to much of a time sink. For sport multi-pitch Where-ever I May Roam was okay and so was First Kiss If you're feeling adventurous and want to get away from the crowds then you could do the Marsupial Traverse.
  4. Hey I'm up in Blaine, just moved up here, and have been looking for new climbing partners. I have every weekend off, and can usually get three day weekends also. I like alpine climbing but any climbing is good, but I really do like Leavenworth climbing.
  5. I'm up in Blaine and would be very interested in doing some alpine rock, I wouldn't mind hiking into do something on Snow Creek wall or maybe something in Darrington if the weather is nice, Right now I on-sight solo up to 5.8 in Leavenworth, so I'd probably be fine leading 9's or 10's and could follow maybe a little harder, but would probably be safest to stick with 9ish or below, I have a rack/can lead on gear although I'm assuming this was implied since your looking for an alpine partner. I was planning on driving into Leavenworth this weekend anyways so maybe we could work something out.
  6. Sorry I forgot, my number is (541)788-4895, I can't answer my phone at work, so just leave a message if I don't answer.
  7. I am going to be heading up to Leavenworth tomorrow at around 5:30-6:00 pm, after I'm done with work. And I'll be coming back Sunday evening. Just wondering if anyone needed a partner or a ride down there. I lead 8-9's on gear right now, but if you are a boulderer and just need a ride I can figure out my own thing to do or we could boulder. Or I can just be transportation. I live in Blaine but could pick up someone in Bellingham/Everette, I have room for 2 or 3 more in my car including gear (it's a Ford Expedition).
  8. I relocated to the area last year and still have yet to really get keyed into the climbing community up here so I'd definitely be interested and would be able to make it at around 6:30 or so.
  9. Amazon has a pretty good deal on the Phantom Lites right now, I picked mine up for around $180 with tax, not all sizes are available, but if you luck out: http://www.amazon.com/SCARPA-Mens-Phantom-Lite-Mountaineering/dp/B001RTTJ5K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=shoes&qid=1268723124&sr=8-1
  10. This is copied from Will Stanhope's blog, just thought I'd post in-case anyone was interested: Tuesday March 16, at 7 p.m. at the Bellingham Library, Fairhaven Branch (1117 12th St.) in the Fireside Room. It is free and open to the public. This is a Bellingham Mountaineers meeting. Here's the website: http://www.bellinghammountaineers.org/ So... this should be blast. If anyone finds themselves in Bellingham Washington, come out, and we'll talk about rocks, climbing and all that fun stuff.
  11. Other than general temperature recommendations you really do just need to try some boots on to see what fits your foot as each model will be different. Some advice that I can add that would be helpful would be this check out Second Ascent if you are in the Seattle area as they have a decent selection of used boot (some in really good shape). I got a pair of Sportiva Makalus which are all leather, which would be ideal for the climbing you describe, for only $70 in near new condition. For the Portland area check out e-omc.com, Oregon Mountain Community is out on Sandy and they have a kiosk in the store that you can use to get the online prices, which are pretty good in their screaming deals section, and then try them on before you buy.
  12. PM sent for camp ice tools!
  13. I am sorta in the market for a new lightweight harness, I know about the archteryx ones some of my friends already have them, but I don't know anyone that has either the CAMP or BD ones mentioned above. So I was wondering if anyone who owns either of those two harnesses could weigh in on how they like them, mostly I'd be interested in what has bothered you about them since I already know what most of their advantages would be. Harnesses that I have owned, if you wish to make any direct comparisons to specific models have been: BD Primrose, BD Momentum Speed, Mad Rock Mars, Metolius Waldo, and I have climbed several times in a Petzl Corax, and BD alpine Bod.
  14. I post another reply for the Mammut Lucido TX1, I haven't had it long so I can't attest to the durability but it is very bright I like the controls, and If it suits your needs it is nice to get the one with the remote battery pack, you can get three high capacity rechargeable C-cells and put them in your jacket to stay warm, you'll easily get two-three times the battery life versus the head-mounted battery pack.
  15. Am I the only one here who doesn't know what skulking is? It was in the OP's post, did you mean you like to skulk or is this actually a sport that I don't know about?
