I'd say it's a failing ball joint. Had the same situation and similar sounds about a year ago with my subaru. Cheaper to get it fixed before the assembly becomes completely loose.

'05 model year Kona Stinky freeride bike - or downhill bike if that's what you prefer. It's pretty much brand new - I never ride it and it just sits in my living room - Want to sell it to someone who will actually use it. I can get pics if needed. I think I paid about $1,700 bucks. Looking to get $1,100 out of it.

Saw some quickies in the "Weekend Rock". Looked like mostly single pitch trad and sport mixed. I think there was a mention of needing a conoe or boat to reach the starts. Probably enough routes in this book for a day's worth.

F*ck this Spring SH*T! Ma' Nature needs to decide.... Warm up a little or start dumping pow again. No more of this snow&rain then snow&rain... I'd say X38 wont be dry enough until there is about a week of sun - July. Haha.
