  2. Yep, they were the the manufacturers of that. They also made extensive use of slave labor. They now live on as AGFA, BASF and Bayer...

Have you considered anchoring yourself? Also, unless your partner takes a huge whipper or outweighs you by a lot, the dynamic nature of the rope and the little bit of slip of it through the belay device should keep you from getting launched.
  4. Also, when you say you can't lift your arm -- was that the same arm that got the tetanus shot? If so, that's a somewhat common side effect of the shot -- my last one left me with a dull ache in my left shoulder for a few days...
  5. you can examine the fluid discharge from the wound -- if it is cloudy and has a foul smell, it may be an infection. If you look in any first aid book you can see about how to treat different wound types in the field -- whether they require regular irrigation, what type of dressing, etc...
  6. Look at the size of the colored square on the map, then compare that size to the legend next to the pic... you'll see that quake was a 6.change
  7. Blake -- I've had a Hilite for five or six years now... in general, I'm pretty happy with the bag. I'll agree with ericb -- the WM is pretty narrow, so if you toss and turn and flail your arms you may not like it very much. The fabric is VERY delicate -- I've had some down poke out of it, and I've got a couple of small holes in it.

  13. Great... I'll post pics of my new flower beds in the back yard and we can have ourselves a garden-off (is there even such a word?)...
  14. Never mind the weather... seems like we're going to have a gorgeous Saturday and a nice Monday. Meanwhile, based on the prognostications of our finest, I promised my wife I would stay at home this weekend and do chores around the house, seeing as the weather was going to be crap anyway... These fucktards can't predict what they had for breakfast yesterday, let alone the weather a day or two in advance...
  15. Yeah, this is the place to come if you're looking for your father Who's your daddy??

  17. You probably just missed it -- it was on KUOW 94.9. Check if they have it in the archives.
  18. He talked about stopping to help Lincoln Hall, whom his team found on their way to the summit. Lincoln will be talking about his side of the story June 11th at the Mountaineers. Oh, also, his name is Dan Mazur, not Mazar...
  19. Fuck, you're right. So much for vantage. Well, there's always Tieton...

  21. Actually they were mauled by a tiger... kinda like Siegfried (or was it Roy?)
  22. Mt. Erie appears to be dry today and tomorrow. I'm going to try and go up there tomorrow morning... Or you can go and aid climb at Index. Weather is not a factor then...
  23. Still haven't figured out where the bookstore is these days, but it turns out that FF has a bunch of copies, so I grabbed one there.
  24. Yeah, that is kind of unusual. Most units served in either the North African/European campaign, OR the Pacific campaign. Then gain, the US repositioned some units to the Pacific theater after the capitulation of Germany, in anticipation of an invasion of Japan. Maybe Pug's father was in one of those units?
  25. No, they have bigger drains... the homeless can be flushed down those.
