Prohibition is basically a zero-tolerance policy for minors, too.

We should totally let people's lives continue to be ruined while we wait for a proposal that contains better DUI language. That's not selfish at all.

Bloomberg, The Economist, and Colin Powell have endorsed Obama this week. Meatloaf and Lindsey Lohan have endorsed Romney.

Looks like we don't have to wait to see what Romney would do if 502 passes, turns out he's been pretty clear on this topic -- willing to oppose not only recreation marijuana use, but even fight medical marijuana "tooth and nail." What a dickhead. I respect a lot of republican friends, but it's hard to imagine how they can bring themselves to vote for this guy. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/02/mitt-romney-marijuana_n_1931995.html

What's up with that guy Christie? I've seen him at least three times now in a jacket that says, "Chris Christie" on the breast. LOL!

The storm is a hoax - it never happened. All the videos of destruction are just cg-wizardry! Don't believe everything you see! NEITHER OF US SAW IT HAPPEN. Your data is no better than mine.

I know he bills himself as an independent these days, but I'd vote for a republican like him if one were to ever make it past the republican primaries.

this is my concern as well. Typically the feds seem to withhold transportation funds when states get out of line re: drinking ages, highway speeds, etc. I wonder if they'll try the same thing. Duh.
  15. It sounds like you want a new pair of boots anyway, but did you try taking the boots to a cobbler? My beloved scarpa mantas developed this same problem in the heel cup and I had a cobbler fix it up right quick, good as new.

I think Ivan's original quip regarding the irony of the current "State's rights" agenda of the republican party vis-à-vis their federalist stance during the civil war is apt. Both parties have changed pretty dramatically in some ways since those days, don't you think?

    Rumors

I did indeed read the article which I shared with you. In fact, right after that quote which you mention, there was a statement from a facebook rep who concluded that this was not a clickjacking case and that they were most likely accidental clicks on a cramped mobile interface -- regardless, clickjacking wouldn't explain your friend's story who wasn't even logged in, would it? They would have had to, as you say, "hacked into his account" do to that. But I haven't seen any evidence of this in a reputable news journal. I'd love to see a source if you can find one.

Can you cite a source for this? I did a search for "romney campaign hacking facebook" and found plenty of independent sources disputing such an idea. (http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2012/10/mitt-romney-fraudulent-facebook-likes)

if romney is elected, it will be an interesting test of his supposed "States Rights" platform.

It's anecdotal, but I have some friends in NYC that are definitely frustrated (who wouldn't be?) but definitely not at the response -- they've all had nothing but positive things to say about the disaster response. Of course they want their power back and things back to normal (who wouldn't), but I think everybody there seems to understand that people are moving as fast as they can, and even my friends who are staunchly republican feel that the federal response has been "reassuring"

It's real: http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2003689817_webmedicalmar02.html I suspect this was his biggest problem. However, it's interesting that the appeals court said it didn't matter. I think that's a great sign, and probably a great precedent. edit: and a good example of how much simpler I-502 will make everything.

Sweet! Thanks, I was curious about the tax implications but it sounds like they've really thought this thing out. Also, I think it's great to have a driving limit. Who knows what the "right" limit is, so it seems best to start somewhere and go from there. This is all new, after all. I hope it passes

Also, I'm curious if you have examples of Washington courts prosecuting a medical marijuana patient with a valid prescription from a licensed medical provider because the court felt it wasnt a good enough reason (i.e. back pain). Or are you saying you'd have to prove in court that you really have back pain? I.E discuss your personal medical condition to a judge so that he can decide if it's real? That would be terrifying, please tell me that's not happening.
