I've been eyeing that forecast, as well... I might be out there Monday(Leavenworth).

That's sweet. How did we miss each other?? I think we watched you on Icicle Buttress on Saturday morning. There was a group on R&D for most of the day, then another group doing some stuff to the right that looked fun(one of the climbers wore a white helmet, burgundy shirt).

I think you're right, Bug. Looks like she's already double-posting to fatten up her count. Glad you had a good run up Midway!

I've fallen on my cams twice--both were first pieces and thankfully were well-placed so as not to pop. As a newbie trad leader, seeing the gear actually do what it is designed to do(ie-stop a fall) was a big deal. I remember hanging there looking at them in grateful amazement.

Thanks, hun! I'm glad Kelster and I hung around a bit on that first night...easier to get to know folks when it's a smaller group. Interesting to hear about your "Trees at Risk" test too. Good luck with that!

I baked a cake. That was friendly. Sorry if you didn't get a slice. I've still got the recipe around here if anyone wants a copy(for the "blackberry impossible pie".)

We just got home tonight...wanted to squeeze one more gorgeous day out of this fleeting fall season. Awesome weekend! It was great to meet some of the fine folks of cc.com and put some names to faces...shout out to Bug, Zonk, Ericb, Blake, Rad, Mythosgirl, Feck, Porter, MattP, Kurt Hicks... Also got in some good climbing. Took Kelly up her first Icicle multi's(Saber and R&D) and finally got a clean lead on Classic. (woot!) Another highlight was discovering a new restaurant in town: Dragonfly Bistro and Martini Lounge in the basement of the Bavarian Ritz hotel. Very hip place for der town. Urban, funky atmostphere with sushi bar, asian fusion menu, saki, and a dance floor. We got the sea-salt encrusted edamame, soba chili noodles and a light lime-infused curry. Yumm-o!

Running a "cookie cleaner"-type program can also do it. Good luck.
-
Is it your antivirus program or a security setting, perhaps? One of mine does that(logs me out of all my accounts after each visit if I leave it on the high security setting.)

Glucosamine, stool softener, and Preparation H. I can't decide between the wipes, the paste, or the suppositories. What do you think? I'm thinking we're sorry we asked.

I wasn't even thinking of THAT scenario. I better just grab a tub of Cool Whip. Or is that already on your grocery list?
-
At the bookstore in Leavenworth, they sell a book that is basically a collection of grocery lists that someone found over the years. As I thumbed through it, it was fascinating how a couple scrawls and scribbles on the back of a crumpled receipt can reveal so much about the human psyche. The author's side remarks about the lists are hilarious. Like the list that had questions marks after each item, the guy was like, "WTF, if you don't know that you want ANY of this, WHY did you bother putting it on the list?!" Milk, Eggs, Vodka. Check it out for a good laugh.

Just found a great recipe for an "Impossible Blackberry Cobbler." I'm going to bake one and bring it for all you fruits. According to the "serving suggestion" in the recipe, I'll have to bring a can of whipped cream for the topping....THAT part worries me.

We're celebrating our 12th anniversary this weekend, and I wholeheartedly agree with the above as being the reason we've made it this far(and are still very happy to keep going ). We are complete opposites in almost every aspect of our lifestyles and interests,we do almost no activities as a couple, but when it comes to the big issues of a relationship, like honesty, commitment, compassion, respect, etc, and core values in general, we couldn't be more alike. Those are things that matter, in our book. The other stuff is just window dressing, it'll come and go and change and grow and die--not really the things on which you want to base your reason for being together.

Finally! A math problem I understand!

Just reading the answer made my brain hurt. Stupid numbers.

No, but she likes wieners. Actually, she's a certified therapy dog. Even flies in the cabin with us when we travel. Hasn't quite figured out the airport escalators, though. She's like, "What the hell? Are these stairs, or not?!? THEY MOVE! "

I was just given FOUR new cams for my birthday! Count 'em: one, two, three, four. All for ME. Ha! I feel soooo indulged.

One of my dogs is coming to Rope Up. Please don't eat her.

We're going to miss you, M.

So, um, what size are you wearing right now?
-
I'm eyeing up the new 5.10 VMile's for an all-day trad shoe, but I can't seem to get one size to work for both feet. I'm excited about the comfort and support of this shoe, though, so I wanted to look further into the sizing options. When I asked the guy at 5.10 why they didn't advertise mismatching as an option on their website, he said because "then everyone would want to do it." Duh. So now we know. But you didn't hear it from me.
-
I just heard back from the folks at FiveTen. You can order two different-size shoes as a pair for a 25% surcharge. Good to know.

Cutest EVAR! I want that dog!
