Glucosamine, stool softener, and Preparation H. I can't decide between the wipes, the paste, or the suppositories. What do you think? I'm thinking we're sorry we asked.

I wasn't even thinking of THAT scenario. I better just grab a tub of Cool Whip. Or is that already on your grocery list?

At the bookstore in Leavenworth, they sell a book that is basically a collection of grocery lists that someone found over the years. As I thumbed through it, it was fascinating how a couple scrawls and scribbles on the back of a crumpled receipt can reveal so much about the human psyche. The author's side remarks about the lists are hilarious. Like the list that had questions marks after each item, the guy was like, "WTF, if you don't know that you want ANY of this, WHY did you bother putting it on the list?!" Milk, Eggs, Vodka. Check it out for a good laugh.

Just found a great recipe for an "Impossible Blackberry Cobbler." I'm going to bake one and bring it for all you fruits. According to the "serving suggestion" in the recipe, I'll have to bring a can of whipped cream for the topping....THAT part worries me.

We're celebrating our 12th anniversary this weekend, and I wholeheartedly agree with the above as being the reason we've made it this far(and are still very happy to keep going ). We are complete opposites in almost every aspect of our lifestyles and interests,we do almost no activities as a couple, but when it comes to the big issues of a relationship, like honesty, commitment, compassion, respect, etc, and core values in general, we couldn't be more alike. Those are things that matter, in our book. The other stuff is just window dressing, it'll come and go and change and grow and die--not really the things on which you want to base your reason for being together.

Finally! A math problem I understand!

Just reading the answer made my brain hurt. Stupid numbers.

No, but she likes wieners. Actually, she's a certified therapy dog. Even flies in the cabin with us when we travel. Hasn't quite figured out the airport escalators, though. She's like, "What the hell? Are these stairs, or not?!? THEY MOVE! "

I was just given FOUR new cams for my birthday! Count 'em: one, two, three, four. All for ME. Ha! I feel soooo indulged.

One of my dogs is coming to Rope Up. Please don't eat her.

We're going to miss you, M.

So, um, what size are you wearing right now?
-
I'm eyeing up the new 5.10 VMile's for an all-day trad shoe, but I can't seem to get one size to work for both feet. I'm excited about the comfort and support of this shoe, though, so I wanted to look further into the sizing options. When I asked the guy at 5.10 why they didn't advertise mismatching as an option on their website, he said because "then everyone would want to do it." Duh. So now we know. But you didn't hear it from me.

I just heard back from the folks at FiveTen. You can order two different-size shoes as a pair for a 25% surcharge. Good to know.

Cutest EVAR! I want that dog!

% of people who want to hear your cat meowing while you send Great Northern Slab: 0 % of climbers who are happy about having their tuna sandwich stolen: 0 % chance that every rope at the place is NOT going to be turned into a big ball of yarn by Pussy: 0 % chance that your chalk bag was not used as a litter box at some point in the day: 0 % of wildlife and government employees who are happy about being chased by your cat: 0 % of dogs at the crag who are glad you brought your cat: 100

You could roast a lot of weenies with a pile like that.

climbing every weekend ignoring the weeds in the front yard(see above) double-dipping

Playground Point was buzzing with them a couple weeks ago. Big nest near top of Romper Room.
-
Maybe that was it(going through the mfr. rather than the retailer.) I didn't see mismatches as an ordering option on FiveTen's website, but I'll give them a call on Monday just in case. Thanks!

A while back, I thought somebody mentioned that there's a retailer where you can get one each of different-sized climbing shoes, instead of having to purchase a matched pair. Would be a nice alternative to having one shoe too big and one shoe too tight.

That's a great concept for a book--more along the lines of what I'd consider to be a celebration of the beauty of the human form interfacing with nature, one that captures the essence of what occurs during climbing when it's muscle against granite and gravity. Hell, I'd even pose for that one. Some of the T&A shots in the calendar seem like a wasted opportunity. There's plenty of other places to buy that, if that's all you're looking for.

The newspaper link says it's a sunny 61 degrees there(sigh.). A great day for climbing...even if you're a bear, I guess.
