  1. So glad I played in the sun on Mount Erie. Thanks for the report, I was nervous to read how it was up there since I was not man enough to go up and see for myself.
  2. Love Vantage in the spring and fall. It's gotta be one of the Northwest's saving graces (besides great beer and coffee). Thanks for the great pics and witty commentary. Skitchmo
  3. Just talked to two NPS employees, one of whom has a project to complete at the trailhead and one who will be working on the Cascade River road washout. From what they tell me it will probably not be late summer before its open. Apparently some projects at the Cacade Pass trailhead they really want to get done. Take it for what it's worth but its a rumor from a pretty good source. Skitchmo
  4. Very nice. Looks like you had a much more enjoyable descent down the Cascadian than my last dust filled, knee crunching slog there.
  5. Damn. Given the current weather situation this is a BRUTAL post. My wife just went skiing in the rain with a trash bag over her coat. We both just sat here with our mouths agape at your pictures and thought, ahh Thailand.... Thanks
  6. Ahhh, that's some beautiful country, thanks for sharing you pics. I grew up learning to climb there and was there just before you to climb Cathedral Peak with my dad on his 75th birthday! We got dinked by the weather, I'm glad you got a good taste of “T mdws”.
  7. Second on the Camalots and TCUs. I also have a set of Splitter Gear cams, nice if you have a long approach since they are light as feathers. Anyone else used them?
  8. hexes...what kind, size, and slung or wired?
  9. Nice pictures. We were there 3 weeks ago and when I opened the door to our van in the parking lot at 3:00am our van filled with wind-driven snow, oh well. With current conditions hould "begining alpinists" be belayed through the Pearly Gates?
  10. Damn, don't you ever work?
  11. Never mind, I just checked the weather for the coming week. It's ski, ski, ski.
  12. What about Hubba Hubba. I am going to be in Leavenworth area next weekend and would rather not ski at Mission Ridge. Isn't Hubba Hubba usually pretty fat?
