  1. I have a garmin etrex legend color which I like very much. No voice stuff on it but it is light, accurate, is excellent for driving directions, and does not eat batteries. I have had a few units and like this one the best. The backlit color screen is very important for easy viewing in daylight. Especially those of us with old eyes. There is a model up from the legend which is the summit which has a barometric altimeter as well as the satelite one. The screen might be a bit small for car use for some people but I find it works quite well.

Michael Bowe, a Thurston County sheriff's deputy, was stopped in March 2004 in Grays Harbor County for a DUI arrest -- one of five such stops while he carried a badge. How his face was bloodied was never determined, but his service weapon was in the car.

Was the pro he was with on the rag?

    Nice...he ate a rag bag

  3. You bringing yer rockshoes and a harness Toad?

The link to the few remaining pussies who still get on rock in PDX link.

There's about 3 or 4 places relatively close to get a pump, depending on how much time you have etc etc.

PS, did not see this yet, but Powell's bookstore in NW Portland (not the technical bookstore which is a few blocks away but smaller) downtown is a hell of a great place to browse if you like books. Furthermore, you can grab a book you like and wander right into the in store coffeshop and read it if you desire.

From there- its a short walk to 2 great lil places: Bridgeport, where the IPA wins awards and the Blue Heron is sublime. They sell "cask conditioned ales" which are not available elsewhere that are significantly smoother and of a more full flavor. Unfortunately, it's no longer a cozy rathole with the best Pizza and Caesar Salads in NW PDX, but a more upscale, expensive environment (Still it's good food). Rogue ales is fairly good as well and even closer to Powells.

Don't know SE well, sorry I can't give you better advice for that area.

I am heading there with my much better half, is it a used book store? We always like to come home with a half dozen books or so.

I will check it out for sure, and then it would unnatural to neglect the fine ales down the road. Thanks for all the great info. I much appreciate it.

i am just about ready to get a dog. i haven't had one since i was 16 and my family dog ( a boxer named Lady) died.

:laf: He could use a sugar-momma.

Sounds like you're ready for another "smoochie face" of your own. ;) Isn't it amazing how much of an impression they leave on us? So true, the saying: "Dogs leave paw prints on our hearts."

    kitties do too *snif*

when my cat Brier died the vet sent me a clay heart with his paw prints in the clay. I still have to hide that from myself because i cry so hard when i come across it. he pass 4 years ago april. he is in my hear for all time.

One of our three cats "Mango" disappeared at christmas this year and I found him in May underneath our veranda. I had to pull up the planks to get his body out. (pretty smelly) I hid him from my daughter who thinks he got tired of Nell our dog and went to live elswhere. He was my favourite cat. It is very helpful to have other cats etc to take your mind off the loss. We have fish, bearded dragons, we have had Indian Runner ducks, (24 ducklings at once) the cats, We had a mass cricket escape that lasted for about six months with the little buggers creaking all night in the heating ducts. Tadpole/frog hatchings every year. Not to mention the wild critters around here. It keeps your mind off losing one of them at least.

  5. Thanks a lot, We are staying on Hawthorne at the hostel near the Bagdad. Looking very much forward to this little trip.
