  4. I think those who want to keep troops in Iraq should have to pay for it and those who do not want them there do not have to pay for it.

    Close Gitmo?

The Taliban's new top operations officer in southern Afghanistan had been a prisoner at the Guantanamo Bay detention center, the latest example of a freed detainee who took a militant leadership role and a potential complication for the Obama administration's efforts to close the prison. U.S. authorities handed over the detainee to the Afghan government, which in turn released him, according to Pentagon and CIA officials. The relative word being detainee. Not convicted criminal. Innocent until proven guilty.

    He's no messiah

We did not give the feds anything....they took our civil liberties ......and it wont stop there.....more to come. Some among us gave them away by voting for totalitarians rather than for those who respect liberty. I understand....I just dont think it would have matter.

9/11 was inside job. Iraq will never end. The one world government is coming. Anybody hear about Bush signing into law a law that abolishes the borders to Canada and Mexico in 2005. It happened. We are now just North America. Next is the chip. Wake up......
  19. Actually it was a three hour decent.... two rappels total. Alot of walking, which was not good for Mark.
  20. Was just curious about this statement as I can't imagine using anything but offset nuts at Beacon. I have climbed at Beacon for the past 13 years. I have never even seen an offset. Can't imagine. Maybe this is why I see a lot of folks trying to use cams for everything. I'd probably say that if you aren't racking at least one set of offsets out there then lots of placements are likely more hassle than they need to be. Not me......beacon nut placements are uncanny.
  21. A fond memory I have of Kevin is in 2003 we all found ourselves in Vegas. One of the highlights of that trip was climbing all of Solar Slab in 3 pitches. David, Arent and I on one rope. Mark D and Kevin Rauch on another rope (separate team). We all simil climbed the entire route. We all sat on top for a spell then descended the painted bowl, via the one rappel. I remember being crammed up against Kevin as all 5 of us were using the same hanging belay on the rappel. Since we only had two ropes between five of us we had to pull the rope before feeding into the anchor and rapping. The 3 hour decent was fun and the pool of water in the gully to wash up was a nice treat. I remember talking to Kevin about the view while on top. Pointing out the various buildings we could see on the strip. A side note to that climb was Mark D forgot his shoes at the base and had to walk off barefoot.
