  1. Was the routefinding heinous?
  2. A lot of people seem to take indirect variations up the south route. Not trying to hijack, but has anyone ever heard of an attempt at the long sw ridge approach from upper lena lake? I saw a dotted line in the Olympic Climbing Guide, with no details.
  3. Anyone at all?
  4. Bumpity bump
  5. Grrrr! Now rain in the forecast this saturday. Anyone know how far we can drive up teanaway?
  6. The NF Sauk trail has washouts, but is totally passible up to the PCT.
  7. There are very few people who can say "I'm the best at what I do" and have it be so obvious.
  8. I'm fascinated by airplane wrecks in the mountains. The one in 99 was two alaska businessmen slamming into the east side of granite mt in the fog. I always wanted to go look for it when it was fresh, but never did. I forget about it until I found the article in with some old trip reports last week. They were busy searching for john kennedy on the east coast, so it barely got a mention here in seattle. Hey! It's the new guy trying to make a link. web page
  9. Lowell, I love stories and history like this. Thanks for posting.
  10. I would like to join the Squidineers and climb large undersea mountains.
  11. Just hersey: Talking to the rangers in Darrington, a ladder has been placed in the gap. A big pack may make it more exciting.
  12. The NF Sauk (white pass approach)is severely washed out 3.5 miles in according to MBS-NF. I would like to hear if it really is impassible.
  13. So is the N fork Sauk. The west side is out! Could be out for years without some congressional cash.
  14. Komo4.com is reporting two climbers 'in over their heads' and a team from montana, one dead and one missing. All on LR.
  15. Help the new guy. During the Cooley accident, they were reported to be using a 'butt belay' where the two climbers were on opposite sides of the ridge, belaying each other from a sitting position. Is this for real? Can you really be on opposite sides of the ridge? Why isn't the rope shredded? Are they clipped to a picket or a fluke?
  16. There were a dozen windfalls in the first half mile when I did it just about a year ago. After the stream crossing it's a great run.
