Please, for the love of God, take a basic course in economics. How could anyone understand that bad debt hurts the economy and not understand that when people actually pay off their debt that they are helping the economy--especially right now Maybe JayB can correct me on this--or at least refine what I am saying here--but in a time where companies are having to cover their bad debt, those companies are thankful for folks that are paying. It sounds like you are between a rock and a hard place. Maybe you could try moving down there and working for a while and see if that works out or not. If not you could always quit and come back and there would be no harm (that I can think of)? The commuting thing for weekends would be tough (and expensive!) but it could be doable. Maybe you could arrange to work 4 days a week at 10-12 hours a day, and have 3 day weekends? Best wishes in this difficult time!

I am currently training for it. I've been practicing knots at home and reading issues of Accidents in North American Mountaineering from the past 10 years. I also bought a lot of expensive gear. I hope a mentor can help me fullfil my lifelong dream and summit this mountain soon. You sound like a perfect candidate for the Mountaineers! problem is they want money. can you believe it?
